The Project
El Canto de las Manos is a feature documentary directed by María Valverde and co-produced by Forty Entertainment and Quinchoncho. The film explores the relationship between sound and silence through the story of Jennifer, Gabriel and José, three deaf musicians from Venezuela who bring Beethoven’s Fidelio to life in sign language for the first time, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.
I was responsible for the entire graphic art direction of the project, including the official poster, title cards, final credits and various promotional adaptations. The creative process involved exploring different visual directions to find a design that authentically represented the film’s emotional depth and the sensitivity of its subject.
